I have always felt drawn towards nature, and as such, it has been a constant subject matter reoccurring in my art work. I see this repetition as an attempt to create homage to a force that, as an urbanite, I am so removed from. Copies and reproductions developed into idealizations on a subject that originally piqued my interest because of its imperfect character. My current body of work is investigating the role that I play within the dichotomy of nature and society. I aim to realize the dilemma in which nature’s own ability to inspire me has rendered it vulnerable to my artistic manipulations. Graffiti gestures, defacement and purposely obscured views juxtapose the organic and aim to confront the human interaction which is both evident and hidden within the compositions.
